FISHING
TOURNAMENTS & EVENTS
Outstanding
fishing tournaments will greet those angling for fun and
adventure on the waters of Northern Wisconsin and the
Western UP of Michigan in 2005.
Musky
hunters who like to chase 'the fish of 10,000 casts' will
find many excellent musky tournaments on the calendar, but
you don't have to enter tournaments to enjoy northern
Wisconsin's bounty!
Outstanding
walleye, musky, northern, bass, perch and bluegill fishing
-- and tons of other recreational opportunities -- beckon
visitors all season long -- to venerable Northern
Wisconsin and the Western UP of Michigan vacation areas
like Eagle River, St. Germain, Boulder Junction, Presque
Isle, Mincoqua, Mercer and Lake Gogebic.
CALENDAR
OF 2007 FISHING EVENTS IN NORTHERN WISCONSIN
1st Annual
Community Fishing Contest scheduled in Mercer
The First Annual
Community Fishing Contest scheduled in Mercer on
Saturday, June 2, 2007 will benefit Mercer United
Methodist Church Next Generation Campaign. A day of
fun and fellowship will take place from 9 AM to 3 PM
and you can fish for one hour or for the whole six
hours. The fishing event will be held on Lake Tahoe
(North lake only) Go 1/2 mile north of Mercer on
Highway 51, left on Pierpont Drive; stay left and
follow the signs to 5280 N Pierpont Drive. No
fishing licenses are required by the state of
Wisconsin to fish on that day. Rules are that you
can fish from the shoreline only and you provide you
own fishing equipment and bait. Transportation to
different areas of the shore will be offered.
There will be prizes for the first three places in
five different fish categories and year long
"bragging rights" about being the best fisherman in
your category will be at stake. Let's find out who
the best musky, northern, crappy, blue gill and
perch fishermen are?
No bass because that
season will not be open yet. Information and
guidelines will be distributed on that day. Raffle
items will be available. Lunch will be served for
purchase between 11:30 AM to 1 PM. Registration is
$10 per person. All ages are welcome.
