Lake Gogebics weekend reports are improving. Anglers are doing well on Walleye action. With reports of plenty of flag chasing even during the daytime. Continue to fish 28 to 35 ft. for best action. Walleye season remains open until March 15th. For you Perch anglers, we have some better reports also over the weekend. Remember Gogebic is never a numbers lake but famous for the jumbo`s. As always some reports are no fish, but others have reported some good catches. Seek and find is the key, and move on for more active fish. The 25ft. area in the mud continues to be holding fish give or take a few feet, so be prepared to move around. Enjoy the early spring sunshine!

Lake Gogebics current conditions are great. Both snowmobile and atv travel has been good. The mild weather has improved surface conditions and angler enthusiasm both. Walleye season remains open until March 15th and we continue to see quality fish being taken in 28 to 35 feet. Use sucker minnows on tip ups. The Perch bite does not appear to be taking off like last year, but it is that time of year so anything could happen quickly. Some anglers are reporting improved success but are moving around and locating fish. It has not been a problem marking or raising fish, only convincing them to bite! Perch action has been best in about 25ft. on wigglers. Enjoy the nice weather and see you on the ice!

Lake Gogebic! Yep, not much has changed. Walleye action has been better! Best reports are in 24ft and also in the 28 to 35ft areas. Morning and evening are always producing the most activity. Perch action continues hit and miss, anglers locating fish are having a tough time to get them to bite.Lake travel is good with snowmobiles being best. Some atv travel in some areas are ok but will be tough if getting off the hard packed areas. Best of luck and keep fishin!

Lake Gogebics bite is slow with the few anglers that are out reporting some improvement in action. Perch has been inconsistent and Walleye have produced best in 30 to 38ft.Travel conditions remain fair with some slush in areas due to more snowfall. Best of luck!

Lake Gogebic? Broken record!! I know!! It is just that time of the season when patterns are slow and stable. Very few anglers have been out, but ice conditions are good. The bite is fair at best, but both quality Perch and Walleye continue to be found in deep water in a wide range from 24 to 36ft. We have seen the action improve ever so slowly and will continue to get better as the month of Feb. moves on. Keep fishin and best of luck!

Lake Gogebics fishing has improved some, but do not expect fast action. Angler pressure has been light. Most Perch and Walleye anglers are concentrating on deep water 24 to 28 ft. Some quality Perch and above average Walleye have come from these depths. Shallow fish have been targeted mostly at night. Ice travel continues to be good. Best of Luck!

Lake Gogebics fishing has not changed much. It is still slow for the most part with a few good reports mixed in. Perch are being located but hard to coax on the hook! The best Walleye action has been in 20 and 24-28 ft depths on sucker minnows. Some real quality fish have been taken also, just not consistant! Ice conditions have improved in most areas with not as much slush. Not much for fresh snow, so it has had time to settle.Hopefull the milder temps will improve the bite! Best of luck and keep fishin!

Lake Gogebics ice fishing is in full swing. Ice conditions are good in general with the exception of slush in some areas that we will deal with all season. Walleye action has slowed up a bit from what it was, but we are still seeing fair action. Perch activity has been increased, but part of that is just more anglers out on the ice. Travel is always best by snowmobile but some areas are using ATV if the surface is hardpacked by the snowmobiles. Best of luck!

Lake Gogebics fishing continues to be excellent!!!!! Walleye action has been great in 8-12ft. Sucker minnows on tip ups or jigging Rapalas or spoons. Also walleye action has begun in greater depths from 24 to 30ft range. Perch bite is also on with best action from 25 to 27ft. Use wigglers for best results, some nice fish have been taken the past couple days! Ice conditions vary, but are good. Some areas will have more slush than others due to snowfall and it is forcast to snow for 3 days!! Snowmobile will be best way to travel with atvs being limited to hard pack and areas where snow is blown off some. Be safe and watch for ice heaves along the west shore mostly. Best of luck and Happy New Year!!!!!!

Lake Gogebics fishing has been hot!!!!! Walleye action has been steady and anglers have been out in force! Continued good catches from 4 to 8 feet. Some anglers and shacks are progressing to deeper water, but most action has still been shallow. Ice conditions still vary,so use caution. Also be aware of ice heaves. More snow coming so also expect some slush in some areas. Snowmobiles and 4-wheelers have been accessing fine. Be safe and best of luck!

Lake Gogebics ice fishing season is here!!! Varied ice conditions are very much a concern!!!! Please check locally on conditions in the area you plan to fish!!!! The main lake may have as much as 6-7 inches already because snow has blown off some. When the big lake froze we received some high wind causing some ice heaves and it broke up some already good ice, which created areas that had to re-freeze, these are the thin areas we need to be concearned about! Some bay areas that we normally fish at this time of year may see less ice and slush do to heavy snowfall. Anglers are out and catching some nice Walleye in 3-8 feet using sucker minnows and jigging artificials. Evening until sunrise will continue to produce the best. Be SAFE!! And best of luck!!!

Lake Gogebics fishing has improved once again. The fall bite is picking up, with shore anglers producing well after dark using sucker minnows and crank baits. Reports of nice sized fish is also common. These walleye will continue to be active through ice up. Deer hunters report limited success. The nights have been in the teens but daytime temps in the forties! Both anglers and hunters are hoping for a change in the weather! Now that sounds like a broken record in 2009! Best of luck in the woods and on the water.

Lake Gogebic fishing has been fair, but continues to see very few anglers. A few continue to fish from shore using sucker minnows, spinners, or crankbaits from shore dusk to dawn. Others continue to locate any remaining weeds to be found. This pattern will not change much now to ice up. Grouse hunters have had great success this past week and many are preparing for the Nov. 15 gun deer opener. Best of luck in the woods and on the water.

Lake Gogebics fishing report has changed little since last week. Angler pressure is light and most are fishing from shore. Dusk to dawn will produce best in shallow areas using sucker minnows. Grouse hunting has been great! Hunters have been putting up good numbers of birds each day. Best of luck in the woods and on the water!

Lake Gogebics fishing has been a little slower this past week from what was expected. We had a flurry of activity, but after the cold front hit fishing slowed up. Temps have been in the 20`s at night with snow showers on and off recently. The weather is right, so fishing should pick back up again quickly. Most anglers are fishing from shore and some are doing well! Fall colors have peaked, but still very scenic. With leaves falling, grouse hunters are happy! Best of luck in the woods and on the water.
