Well folks,
The weather sure did make it a great day to be out sunday. Got a few calls telling how I should have been there. Missed out on some great action. Walleyes, Nothern , and panfish all bit well.
Most of the action was found in weeds. Just weeds. Panfish took small jigs, and agressive jigging to draw them in, followed by a long pause. If they refuse a couple light jigs got them to hit hard. Spikes, waxies, caught the most, but minnows did help target just crappie. Walleyes best on tips with sm/med minnows or Jiggn raps tipped with minnow head. Northerns well, they were northerns still hit best on smaller minnows. Mostly small fish caught, but a couple over 28".
Notice the pattern in there. Small, small, and small. The lakes with the best action have had large shallow weedbeds. The lakes without have seen slower action in the deep weeds.
First round of snow today left only about 1/2" here. Since second round started we are up to around 1.5" Not much left on radar with the sand like flakes doubt we'll see another 1". More coming though in next few days.
Since the cast came off today may be strong enough for some solo fishing in the next week or so. Will be a horrible thing to have to drill holes again. Kinda like the idea of having all the holes drilled for me. Oh, well that's still a few weeks out.
