FISHING REPORTS:
Lake Gogebic conditions have been good. Watch for slush in a few areas, mostly near any pressure cracks. Walleye action has been slow on the keeper side with most of the action coming from undersize fish. Some good reports have come from 30ft. depths on some nice size eyes. The Perch activity continues to be very hit and miss with no definite patterns other than fishing the mud with wigglers. They seem to be scattered and somewhat finicky! Best of luck to all!

Lake Gogebics fishing has improved some but not great. Walleye seem to be responding best to sucker minnows in the evening with the most aggressive being on the small side. Both suckers and jigging rapalas fished in the deeper areas in 25 to 27ft. are seeing a few less but better size. Perch continue to be hit and miss, but a few nice jumbo`s using wigglers in the deeper water also. Lake travel has been good, but we have seen 15 to 20 inches of new snow the last couple days. Good luck!

Lake Gogebic fishing has not changed much this week. Reports are still very slow, not many fishermen and not a lot of action. Evening and early morning are working best mostly in the 8 to 11ft. range. Most activity has been from the small Walleye with a keeper every now and then. Others have moved to the deeper water over 25ft. searching for both Perch and Walleye with similar results. Sucker minnows on tip ups and Rapalas jigged off bottom for Walleye and wigglers fished near bottom over the mud have produced a few Perch. Travel has been good on most areas with a few areas with slush. Severe cold temps and winds are keeping some anglers off the ice now. The cold temps are predicted into the weekend. Best of luck!

Lake Gogebic fishing has been on the slow side this past week. The weather has been unseasonably warm and conditions great, but very few anglers are out .Ice conditions are good and travel is good. Snowmobiles and even atv`s are even working well in most areas of the lake. The Walleye have been hit and miss, but still providing the most action. Perch have been slow. but a few nice jumbo`s reported. Many anglers are moving to the deeper water now over 25ft. Weather forecast shows much colder temps. and more snow in the forecast wed. thru fri. Best of luck! and good fishin!

Lake Gogebic ice fishermen have been doing ok. The recent weather has kept many anglers of the ice the past few days but reports before the storm were good. Anglers continue to catch Walleye on suckers and jigging in 8 to 12 ft. Also some are doing well in the deeper areas in the 26 ft. range using the same methods. Perch have been hit and miss with a few nice catches using wigglers, but most have been concentrating on the Walleye. Ice conditions have changed with the recent heavy snows around 2ft. in the last few days. Expect to find slush in some areas and near shore. Use caution when traveling as there are a few ice heaves on the lake and this can change from day to day. Best of luck!

Lake Gogebic fishing has been good. Walleye anglers are reporting good catches in 9 to 12 ft. of water using sucker minnows. Even some nice jumbo Perch in these shallow depths! Deep water in the 26ft. range are producing some nice eyes and some Perch action as well.Wigglers are working on the Perch. Ice conditions are good, with 8 to 12 inches of good ice. Expect some wet areas and slush in spots. Near shore there is some slush from the recent heavy wet snow. Temps in the teens to twenties and snow is falling, with a chance for more snow the next 3 days. Watch for several ice heaves on the lake when traveling.Good luck! Happy New year!

Lake Gogebic update. Deer hunting is underway with light hunting pressure, but a few more deer are being seen and light snow cover on the ground. Very few boats on the water, with shore anglers doing well on walleye using sucker minnows in shallow water. It will not be long and ice will be forming in the shallow bays, our open water season is near the end. As ice begins to form on the big lake it can be VERY unpredictable and sometimes breaks and re-freezes with varied winds. Point being, use extreme caution and always check locally at the location you are heading out.. Because of these types of conditions the reports are hard to guarantee, so you may not see any reports until late Dec.when ice conditions are more uniform. Please check at your local access points before venturing out and please be SAFE! Best of luck!

Lake Gogebic fishing has improved once again. More seasonable temps have sparked that fall bite. Angler pressure is very light, with most just fishing from shore. Jigs tipped with sucker minnows are working the best. Some prefer to work crankbaits, and also productive. Shorelines and weeds are producing best at dusk and dawn, with some fishing into the night at this time of year.Grouse hunting continues to be excellent. Bow hunting for deer has also been very good. The Nov. 15th. Rifle deer season opener is almost here as well! Best of luck to all!

Lake Gogebic fishing has improved some. With little boat activity and angler pressure very low it has been fairly quiet. Shore anglers seem to be doing well using crankbaits in the evening or after dark. Also sucker minnows are producing very well for some near shore and in any green weeds you can find. Fishing was on the upswing this past week with normal fall temps. But the lake has just turned over with consistant water temps throughout and this has slowed the fishing again the past couple days. Expect this to recover soon and see the fish responding again over this next week. Grouse hunting continues to be fantastic! Best of luck.

Lake Gogebic weather has been fantastic if you like summer! Too hot and the fish have not been biting this past week. Sure some are catching a few fish just to keep your interest. You may want to try crawlers again along with the basic fall minnow pattern to boost your odds.Weather has been stable but we need it to cool off again to bring that fall bite back again! Best of luck.

Lake Gogebic fishing has been very good for most! Perch continue to hit crawlers in 9 to 12 feet on the weed lines. Smallmouth and Northern are hitting sucker minnows and spinners on any edges and weedlines from 4 to 14 ft. Walleye action has picked up using both crankbaits and sucker minnows. Most are fishing shoreline structure and weeds. Looks like the fall bite is here! Fall colors are great! Right now! Grouse season is going well with lots of coveys being flushed and the leaves starting to fall. Enjoy this great time of year!

Lake Gogebic temps and conditions are more like fall! Tree color is quickly changing. The fall fishing should improve also. Anglers continue to pick up some Perch on crawlers in 9 to 11ft in the weeds along with some Walleye on minnows. The Smallmouth action continues to be fantastic using sucker minnows near 8 to 14ft on any breaklines, bars or edges. Northerns are still hitting spinner baits near the weed edges and Walleye are responding to cranks trolled near the edges, along with the sucker minnows. Best of luck!

Lake Gogebic fishing has been very slow the last few weeks with above average temps for this time of year. The weather has changed today with cooler temps and some anglers reporting some very good catches of Smallmouth using sucker minnows in 9 to 11 ft. Also very good action on Northerns using the sucker minnows and spinner baits. The Walleye seem to be a bit slower to respond, so give it a few days with the cooler temps they should also improve. Most are using nightcrawlers and minnows now. Best of luck!

Lake Gogebic update. It has been very quiet as far as the numbers of anglers here on the big lake. The good news is fishing has been fair and they are getting fish in a variety of areas so don`t be afraid to move around. The 7-9ft.area in the weeds and weed edges continue to produce both perch and walleye. The 14 to 18 ft breaklines are producing walleye using crawler harness`s. The 25 to 28ft mudflats are seeing both perch and walleye also. Leeches seem to be working best for the walleye at this time. Best of luck!

Lake Gogebic update. Fishing has not changed much, but is still fair.Leeches continue to produce best on the walleye and crawlers for the perch. The late summer stable patterns will remain for some time now. Continue to work the weed beds and edges for both, along with the deeper slots in over 25ft for both. The rocks and harder bottom areas are also producing smallmouth and walleye as they are feeding on crayfish as well. Best of luck and enjoy the beautiful weather as the hot spell has let up!

Lake Gogebic fishing is improving from a long slow period. Some excellent catches of jumbo perch have been coming from 7 to 9ft in the weeds very early in the morning at day break using crawlers. Also jumbo perch on bottom in 26 to 28ft have seen some great catches. Walleye have began to bite much better also! The most productive areas have been from 12 to 17ft and also 21 to 23ft leeches have been the best bait hands down! Best of luck! lets hope the upswing continues!

Lake Gogebic report. I apologize for any gaps and delays in some reports as technical problems have caused some to be updated and others missed. The fishing is still on the slow side, with the bite improving a little from this past week but not very good yet. We had some more insect hatches over the past week also. A few jumbo perch are biting on crawlers and leeches in the weeds, with some of the largest hitting leeches but not consistant. Walleye are definitely favoring leeches over crawlers the last few days. Some of the best catches are coming from 12 to 17ft. Weed walleyes have been on and off with there activity. Some nice smallmouth action has also come in the 12 to 17ft range providing some added excitement using both leeches and crawlers. More hot weather is on the way so conditions may not change to quickly. Best of luck!

My apologies as this report was to be posted long ago but was delayed due to internet problems out of our control.Welcome back to that wide swing of the pendulum here on Lake Gogebic. Fishing has gone from fantastic to slow this past week. Extreme warm weather and more insect hatches are frustrating most anglers. Smallmouth and Northern have been a bit more active than the Walleye. Perch action has also slowed very quickly. Most are using crawlers and leeches with some action on stick baits. Best of luck and enjoy the great summer weather on the water!

Lake Gogebic fishing has been nothing short of AWESOME!! The past week has seen Huge Jumbo Perch actively taking nightcrawlers in the weeds, even leeches are bringing in some of those Jumbo`s. Walleye action has also been HOT! With the bite moving from crawlers to leeches and back again, keep using a variety. The past few days have been very hot on leeches. Anglers are bringing in lots of fish, so best of luck!

Lake Gogebic weather was great over the holiday! Fishing is on the upswing also. A few mayflies have been hatching, but the fish are becoming a bit more aggressive. Some very nice jumbo perch are hitting crawlers in the weeds and also in 15 to 16 ft. Crawlers are also producing walleyes in these same areas. Drifting and trolling in the mud flats are also bringing in walleye for some. Best of luck

Lake Gogebic fishing is still slow, but has seen a slight improvement. Crawlers are working best either drifted or trolled on bottom in the mud. Leeches and crawlers are putting some fish in the boat worked in and near the weeds. Just do not expect a great improvement as most anglers are still struggling. With a slow down in insect hatches trollers using boards for suspended fish are also doing a bit better. Best of luck! and have a safe and happy holiday weekend!

Lake Gogebic update!!!! Temps have been above the predicted forecast and the ice is becoming UNSAFE in many parts of the lake. Shorelines are failing quickly and rain is in the forecast. Any type of travel is NOT recommended!!!! Spring is coming even here in the northwoods so be safe and the May 15th Walleye opener will be here in no time.
